Today, democratic civic space in many countries is shrinking. Civil Society in Southeast Asia countries is facing more challenges as governments introduce restrictions and barriers to fundamental freedoms and rights. Confronting this trend, Lokataru Foundation fights to restore democratic and civic space in Indonesia and in the regions. Hand in hand with others CSOs, We works to strengthen the role of civil society in fighting a shrinking civic space and in promoting human rights and democratic reform, in supporting the peaceful conciliation of group interests and in consolidating political participation in Southeast Asian Countries especially in Indonesia. To achieve these objectives, Lokataru Foundation conducts research, capacity enhancement trainings, technical assistances, policy dialogues and campaigns.
